Based on the 3-year fellowship programme between the University of Oxford and Celgene Corporation, this multi-phase qualitative project began in September 2016 and aims to investigate:

  • the value of fellows working in inter-sectoral collaborations to improve translational research;
  • the impact of having a collaborative partnership and any influences that might change the direction of research;
  • and how to improve service delivery and programme development for future placements.

The project will cover a total of five time points for the fellows and three time points for Celgene training staff, mentors and line managers.

Years 1, 2 and 3 will consist of various interviews with both fellows and training staff, mentors and line managers, covering topics such as perceptions of industry, academia and the fellowship programme, and giving updates and suggestions for improvement at scheduled time periods.
